Vision

Create an innovative, collaborative and vibrant scientific environment for researchers and trainees interested in multilevel systems analysis to understand the foundation of biological systems.

Mission

Gain a systems-level knowledge of biological systems to:

  • Understand organization of life from molecular and micro- to macroscopic
  • Assess dynamic interactions, identify signaling pathways
  • Implement a systems approach to translational and clinical applications

Approach

Toward these goals, our division’s laboratories carry out research with teams that include biologists, statisticians, computer scientists, chemists, engineers, physicists and geneticists. Our investigations involve the study of disease from the molecular level to phenotype, with broad applications in complex genetic traits, disease risk assessment, cancer, toxicology and pharmacology, immunology and precision medicine.
