Course overview: The days will begin with lectures focusing on the basic principles and applications of imaging modalities used in both research and in the clinic. Experts in the field will teach about magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), magnetic particle imaging (MPI), optical imaging, photoacoustics, ultrasound, nuclear medicine and molecular biology for molecular imaging. Our small-group lab sessions will include imaging of live animals, phantoms and image analysis. We have instructors from MSU, Western University, University of Illinois – Chicago, Wayne State and Oakland and welcome all students interested in learning how to use imaging in their research.
