About
Dr. Praveen obtained a PhD degree in organic chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India. Following this he availed prestigious BK21 fellowship from South Korea and worked as a Research Professor at KU-KUIST, Korea University in the nanobiophotonics department. After serving there in the department for two years Dr. Praveen moved to Michigan State University Biomedical Engineering Department in 2023-August and Joined as a Research Associate in Prof Kim Taeho’s group. Dr. Praveen is dedicated to advancing the field of nanoscale inorganic materials, aiming to create innovative contrast agents and therapeutic solutions for medical use. Leveraging proficiency in the solution phase synthesis of inorganic and organic nanoparticles, Dr. Praveen engages in particle engineering to develop advanced tools for targeted drug delivery, cell tracking, and molecular therapeutics across a range of diseases, such as cancer, stroke, and bacterial infections. Recently, his research has concentrated on the development of nanoparticles specifically designed for photoacoustic molecular imaging. In this endeavor, Dr. Praveen aims to enhance the efficacy and precision of medical treatments through various engineered nanoparticles. The major achievements include various fellowships, 2 patent applications, and 28 publications (total number of citations: 320, h-index: 11) in the fields of nanomaterials, nanomedicine, and molecular imaging.
