As the Equipment Manager, Nisa’s main role is to provide support for laboratories and lab managers in IQ and BME. She manages shared equipment and coordinates delivery, installation, maintenance, and disposable of research equipment. Nisa is also responsible for the procurement of capital and non-capital purchases, processing equipment records and for conducting annual physical inventory of all department-owned capital assets. She is also the acting fiscal officer for IQ core facilities, where she oversees the administrative functions of the IQ cores. She’s oftentimes the liaison between the lab staff and the IQ administrative staff.
I joined the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Institute for Quantitative Health Science and Engineering in March 2017. My main responsibility at IQ and BME is to support the research labs and manage departmental research equipment. I also handle the finances for the IQ core facilities. Prior to joining BME and IQ, I worked for the Clinical Genetics Division in the Department of Pediatrics and Human Development as a lab manager for CAP-accredited DNA and Microarray laboratories. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from MSU in 2009.
